    Answers for all of your questions about Drone XC Dash Cam.

    • Yes. The Drone XC dash camera can be installed as a standalone dash camera with the included harness.
    • To integrate with an aftermarket remote start/alarm, connect Drone XC to a compatible Firstech control module. Note: additional wire connections are required for Drone XC to be sufficiently powered.
    • Drone XC is capable of connecting to your smartphone over LTE and local Wi-Fi. You will set up the LTE connection when you add the device/vehicle to your DroneMobile account. For the local Wi-Fi connection, you will need to tap the pairing button on the Drone XC dash cam and then select the Drone XC in your smartphone’s network settings.
    • Yes, the Drone XC has an additional video input for adding a rear-facing or interior facing. We will have these additional accessories listed soon on https://www.dronemobile.com/products.
    • Yes. Drone XC will record audio by default. At any time, you can mute the Drone XC microphone so that it does not pick up audio.
    • Yes. The Drone XC comes with a pre-installed 64GB micro SD card. This can be upgraded to a 256GB class 10, video-ready micro SD card. (Note: not all SD cards are created equal! Make sure you use a high-quality, class 10 micro SD card if upgrading).
    • Drone XC files are stored in MP4 (.mp4) file format for easy sharing and editing on any device.
    • By default, Drone XC will record activity in front of your vehicle if motion, impact, or alarm alert is triggered. You can adjust these settings, and sensor sensitivity within the DroneMobile app.
    • No, you do not need to have a DroneMobile subscription to use your Drone XC. You will still be able to access the following features:

      1. Dash cam recording in 2K while driving or parked.
      2. Connect to your Drone XC with the DroneMobile App via wi-fi. Once connected, you can download videos from your Drone XC and adjust settings.
      3. Access local storage using the screwdriver included with the XC dash cam.

      By purchasing a DroneMobile control/tracking subscription, you will unlock the following functionality.

      1. GPS tracking
      2. Unlimited range vehicle control (lock/unlock/remote start)
      3. Instant push notifications

      Lastly, by subscribing to a DroneMobile streaming plan (starting at $7.00/month), you can access additional live streaming features:

      1. Remote live streaming over LTE (Live View)
      2. On-demand video download from your Drone XC
      3. Secure backup to the cloud
    • There are three ways that the Drone XC dash cam will start recording while the vehicle is parked:

      Method #1: An alarm event occurs (shock, tilt, glass-breakage, etc.)
      Method #2: Motion is detected within the camera’s view
      Method #3: The owner starts a live-streaming session that is automatically backed up to the cloud
    • Yes. The Drone XC dash cam has a GPS antenna built into the camera. Yes. The Drone XC dash cam has a GPS antenna built into the camera.
    • Yes, any of the following events will trigger an alert from the Drone XC.’

      • Impact
      • Tilt/towing
      • Shock/impact
      • Glass-breakage
      • Unauthorized entry into the vehicle
      • Unauthorized attempts to start the vehicle

      Additionally, the Drone XC has motion sensors that can trigger a dash cam recording.
    • From the DroneMobile App, you can start a live streaming session with your Drone XC dash camera. If you are far away from the vehicle, you can do this over LTE with any one of our Streaming plans.

      Streaming sessions can take anywhere from 10-30 seconds to start as the XC dash camera establishes a video stream with our server. Strong 4G LTE connectivity is required for a great streaming experience.

      Important note: live streaming resolution is reduced to 540p to improve the performance and responsiveness of your Drone XC. Your entire live streaming session will automatically be backed up to the cloud in 540p as well.
    • Yes! The Drone XC will work with any vehicle where constant power, ground, and ignition connections can be hardwired. For vehicle control capabilities like lock, unlock, remote start, compatible is limited to about 90% of vehicles.
